Loving what you do does not feel like work but fulfills certain levels of personal satisfaction and achievement. I have been fortunate to have been involved and worked closely with so many disciplines throughout my career that has allowed me to develop additional skills and gain in depth knowledge of how projects should be designed and constructed.
I was educated at Mississippi State University, designed hundreds of projects, taught, lectured and have authored. With thirty+ years of experience as a design leader and construction manager in landscape architecture, master planning, and urban design, SunHouse Design was created bringing my North America and international experience back home to the US.
My work has been internationally based since 2007 after leaving the US with projects in North America, Middle East, Southeast Asia and China. Project types include hotels and resorts, theme parks, golf courses, mixed use/commercial and urban planning and design projects winning awards on 2 continents. I have extensive experience with large-scale master planning, project programming and positioning, branding, tourism development and hospitality planning and design. I also have extensive experience in construction management inclusive of hotel resorts, theme and water parks. I have been responsible for selecting and approving materials, factory visits for grc/grp mock-ups and overall hard and soft landscape elements.
Key strengths include master and urban planning where previous experience with large scale projects included Stonehouse, a 9,000-acre master planned development in Virginia, Desert Rose, a 4,000 hectare Emirate Housing development in Dubai and more recently Universal Studios and Six Flags theme parks.
